Looking for Suggestions!

I need your help, readers!

I’ve been including articles about local events, activities, and individuals, in the paper. In the April paper you’ll read about the Pawnee Senior Center in Genoa, celebrating their 25th birthday! In the May issue you’ll read about a planned mission trip by a group from Norfolk. In June you’ll read about a Columbus group also planning a mission trip. In past issues I’ve featured musicians, singers, a medical mission team, and so one.

If you know of an event, person, or group that you’d like to see featured, please contact me! You can reach me at shelly@shellyburke.net, or by phone at (402) 993-2467 or (402) 750-3496.

Thanks for your help!

February Paper

The February issue of the paper is ready to print! It was fun to put together! Several articles that will appear in the paper
  • Columbus Medical Mission team traveling to Nicaragua
  • Be a Friend to Have a Friend
  • Tim Tebo to Star in Pro-Life Super-Bowl Ad
We plan to pick up the paper and deliver in Norfolk next Tuesday, and mail out and deliver in Columbus later in the week.

I’ll post several articles on this blog, also.

December Issue

As I did research to find the “perfect” article for the front page of the paper, I found an article by Alan Sears, titled “It’s OK to say ‘Merry Christmas,’ Charlie Brown." It was interesting to read how the producer of the feature “A Charlie Brown Christmas” warned Charles Schultz that if he left the scene featuring Linus reading the Christmas story, Charlie Brown would be ruined. Schultz, however, stuck to his beliefs and today “A Charlie Brown Christmas” remains one of the highest rated programs on network television when it airs.

Do you think you know a lot about Christmas? Take the “Christmas IQ Quiz” and find out. You’ll also find several articles about starting new Christmas traditions, and questions to ask at Christmas gatherings, to stimulate conversation and gain a deeper understanding of how others see Christmas.

If you missed the December issue of the Nebraska Family Times but would like to receive a copy, call and inquire. A limited number of copies are available at no charge.
